She is Aggregate Professor in Public Health (2012), with a PhD in Spatiotemporal Stochastic Processes (Environmental Engineering) and a Master Degree in Geo-resources, at Instituto Superior Técnico (2003 and 1998).
Her degree is in Mathematics/Statistical Sciences, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, F.C.T./ U.N.L. (School of Sciences and Technology, Nova University of Lisbon).
Currently she is Professor of Statistics at ENSP, Coordinator of Epidemiology Master Course at ENSP.

In terms of research, she has about 40 papers published in refereed journals and conference proceedings, coordinates/participates in 4 research projects in public health area sponsored by different entities (FP7, FCT, Gulbenkian, private companies, etc.).
Also she was scientific tutor of 30 dissertations or master’s project work and 4 PhD Thesis.

Main research areas: spatiotemporal statistics, spatiotemporal epidemiology, tuberculosis, Public health indicators.
